Aurélien Vantomme

Co-Founder | R&D Director

PhD in Chemistry (Belgium, China) with 17+ years of experience in the industry at TotalEnergies. Aurélien has a huge know-how in technology scale-up and is inventor of more than 40 patents. Over the past 4 years, he played a key role in the CO₂ ecosystem, overseeing the reduction of CO₂ emissions for the Global Refining & Chemicals business.

Marnix Waterschoot

Development Engineer

MSc in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven (Belgium). Marnix has experience in academic R&D, focusing on carbon capture membrane technology and porous materials, as well as industrial R&D in catalyst development at Solvay. His excellent academic track record included studying at the renowned EPFL in Switzerland. Devoted to sustainability, he’s eager to push ARK’s technology to the next level.

CTO

François holds an MSc in Electromechanical Engineering from École Polytechnique de Louvain (Belgium). He has 19+ years of experience in industry, having worked at Solvay and INEOS. He has held senior roles globally and served as the Technical Director of INEOS Jemeppe-sur-Sambre. François is enthusiastic about applying his extensive engineering and project management skills to ARK’s breakthrough technology.

Co-Founder | CEO

MSc Mechanical Engineering from École Polytechnique de Louvain (Belgium). Samuel has 14+ years of industry experience, starting by developing strong skills in Process, Operations, and Strategy at TotalEnergies. He then served as COO at Memoco before assuming the role of Vice-President in the Hydrogen division at John Cockerill.

Fanni Sypaseuth

Sr Development Engineer

PhD in Chemistry (FUBerlin, Germany) with extensive R&D experience in catalytic CO₂ conversion using transition metal complexes. Over 10 years in academia (postdoc), research institutes (BAM, Berlin), and industry (TotalEnergies, Dow, Belgium). Recently, Fanni has enjoyed customer-facing roles, connecting customer needs with product development and commercialization. Passionate about reducing the industry’s environmental impact, Fanni sees ARK as the ideal place to make a difference.
